Vote to be taken at May Meeting!!:

1.      Cane Creek Campground     http://www.canecreekcampground.com/

Snow Camp, NC

PROS                                                                          CONS

Good riding roads                                             No large enclosed room

Good food nearby                                            Rough toilets + showers

Camping area good                                          Cost ($15/day to camp)

Some powered sites                                         Campfire ????

This is an excellent “No Brainer” campground, but lack of covered meeting room might be problematic for a large campout in the fall.

2.        Chestnut Ridge Camp   http://www.campchestnutridge.org/

  Efland, NC

PROS                                                              CONS

Good riding roads                                             Long gravel road to camp

I-40/85 within 3 mi.                                          Large camp, rough paths

Kitchen on site—all meals available                   Cost ($3-$27/day)

Cabins and lodges w/ bunks                              There might be other groups

Some covered large buildings                            Standard camp toilet/shower

This is a very large(362 acre), Methodist camp that is also a retreat center.  Nice facilities with a good kitchen, but so spread out you may not be able to find people. Cabins seem nice, but the paths+ roads are rough.

3.       Banjo Creek Campground       http://www.banjocreekresort.com/

                  Asheboro, NC

PROS                                                                                      Good riding roads                                       Lots of RV people in camp

Good stores/activities                                        Past history with the mgmt.

Lots of RV power                                            May be 30 or 50 amp circuit

                  On-site food available                                       Cost (TBA)

Large, meeting hall for meals                             Limited availability

This is the old Zooland Campground, site of many Halloween Campouts.  The place has been fixed up nicely, but the RV business may be off enough to be able to come back.  Reasonable size and power will suit camping needs.  We have not been able to negotiate the costs yet, so this may be the highest costing camp.  A good campout site but further negotiations are needed.

           4.         Have no campout this year

-Have a Fall No-Brainer somewhere or just stay home

-Save the club money for other activities
